Origin Story

The idea of Puppy Flush was first had in the Spring of 2020, when the world was suddenly turned upside down by the COVID19 pandemic. Nation-wide quarantine had me stuck at home with my dog, seeking out ways to stay sane. It seemed as good a time as any to focus on self-improvement, and this obviously involved taking stock of my own health - both mental and physical. I already understood that the companionship I had with my dog was a huge contributor to my mental health. And one major theme I kept hearing/reading from health experts was to GET OUTSIDE! For the vast majority of human existence, we have spent an estimated 98% of our time outdoors and 2% indoors. Only in this modern age of technology have those numbers been reversed, and I sincerely believe it is having a real, negative impact on our well-being. Many of these experts also had a deal to say on the benefits of “grounding,” or direct contact with the Earth’s surface. So playing barefoot in the yard with my dog for a couple hours became a necessary part of my daily routine.

A couple unfortunately-placed steps later, it occurred to me that we were basically frolicking around in my dog’s toilet! As a true dog lover, I believe that — just like people — every dog’s health depends on them spending time outside, and the least we can do is keep it clean and sanitary for them.
